I love the advice Dawn’s father gave to her. “Its ok you can quit or leave or not to do something but if it’s not going to make you happy, then think about it. Because sometimes the struggle is part of it”. This resonates strongly with me because in life we have periods where we can experience lows or challenges – but sometimes the struggle is what deepens our resolve and makes us realize things we never saw before. In fact, if its meant to be for us, it can even strengthen our love for our craft and also develop resilience. Dawn explains how the challenges have been pivotal for not only her career but also making her a stronger well-rounded human. I also love how Dawn came to the realization that embracing authenticity would ultimately get her to reach greater heights rather than by emulating someone else.

“Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are.”— Brené Brown
